Guidelines for applying
The John R. McConnell Foundation only makes donations to qualified donees under the Income Tax Act of Canada. Nonprofit organizations are not eligible if they are not registered as a Charity. Moreover, donation requests must be within the scope of the Foundation’s mission.
How to submit a request
Donation requests are accepted all year long and must be sent via our contact form
The following information and documents are required in support of donation requests:
- Name of your organization
- Description of your organization
- Charitable organization registration number
- Name of contact person and coordinates
- Most recent financial statements of your organization
- Explanation regarding the purpose of the donation request:
- Objectives and intended goals of your project
- Expected results
- Detailed description of your project
- Identification of the public aimed by your project
- Information regarding the amount requested, including a detailed budget of your project, an indication of the amounts already received for the implementation of your project and if there is a possibility for collaboration with other actors, organizations, foundations, etc.
Please note that incomplete applications will not be considered.
Evaluation process and follow-up
Complete donation requests are submitted to the Board of Directors of the Foundation for evaluation. On a general basis, the Board of Directors reviews donation requests on two occasions during the year and if your request is granted, you will be informed in writing of the amount awarded to your organization and of the conditions attached to the donation.
